Standardized Installation Requirements And Installation Precautions For Cable Waterproof Connectors
Nylon Cable Gland plays a very important role in line connection. If it is not installed properly, it will cause line heating, fire and other faults. Therefore, the installation of this connector in the line has very strict requirements. Below we briefly introduce the standardized installation requirements and installation precautions of this connector.
1. When connecting the cable accessory conductor, it should meet the low resistance requirements, and the mechanical strength should not be too low, and there should be no sharp corners at the connection site. If the cable under construction is a low-voltage cable, it should be crimped when connected. When connecting, you need to pay attention to:
(1) The conductivity and mechanical strength of the conductor connection tube should be appropriate.
(2) There should be a certain fit gap between the inner diameter of the crimping tube and the outer diameter of the cable core. The distance of the fit gap is more suitable to be 0.8~1.4mm.
(3) After crimping, the resistance value of the connector cannot exceed 1.2 times that of the conductor with equal cross-section.
(4) Before crimping, the outer surface of the conductor and the inner surface of the connection tube should be properly coated with some conductive glue, and the oxide film should be removed with a wire brush.
(5) There should be no sharp corners and burrs on the connecting tube and the core conductor. If there are any, you can use a file or sandpaper to polish them smooth.
2. The cable body has an inner shielding layer. There are many precautions when handling the inner shielding layer. When installing the connector, the inner shielding layer of the crimped tube conductor should be restored, and an appropriate inner semiconductor shielding layer of the cable should be reserved, so that the inner shielding of the connector on the connecting tube can be well connected and the field strength at the connector connection can be evenly distributed.
3. When handling the outer semiconductor shielding of cable accessories, the effect of the outer semiconductor shielding on the cable and the connector is very obvious. The insulation of the cable and the connector uses a semi-conductive material with a good uniform electric field. When installing, the outer semiconductor port must not only be handled neatly, but also must have a smooth transition with the insulation, so that the connector winding semiconductor and the outer semiconductor shielding can be smoothly connected.
4. When handling the cable accessory cable reaction force cone, there are many requirements, such as the shape and size of the reaction force cone should be accurate, and the same potential should be distributed on the entire cone surface. If it is a cross-linked cable reaction cone, special tools must be used when cutting, and it should be heated with a low fire when cutting. After it is roughly formed, it should be scraped with thick glass, and then it needs to be polished with sandpaper until it becomes smoother.
5. The main function of the metal shielding of cable accessories in cables and connectors is to conduct the short-circuit current of cable faults, and to shield the electromagnetic field from interfering with nearby equipment. When the cable is grounded, the metal shielding is at zero potential. Once the cable fails, it can conduct the short-circuit current very quickly and reduce the occurrence of faults. When grounding, the grounding wire should be welded firmly.
6. In order to ensure the reliability of cable connection, the sealing of the cable waterproof connector is very important. Good sealing can ensure the safe and reliable operation of the connector. In order to avoid water and moisture from penetrating into the connector during use, a cement protection box can be installed at the connector position during installation.
