As the name implies, the main material of Nylon Cable Gland is nylon. When purchasing this connector, customers generally ask the manufacturer to provide a nylon test report. This requires customers to master the knowledge of nylon testing. Today, the editor will introduce the test items and standards of the nylon test report.

1. Performance of nylon testing

Nylon is a crystalline resin. Its color is milky white or translucent. The material has the characteristics of high strength, temperature resistance, low friction coefficient and wear resistance. It also has the advantages of good electrical insulation, acid and alkali resistance and shock absorption. However, it also has some disadvantages of its own, such as it has a certain water absorption, which will affect its dimensional stability.

2. Modification of nylon testing

Nylon can form hydrogen bonds between amidine groups and water molecules. Therefore, compared with hydrophobic polymers, it has greater water absorption, which leads to its size changing easily during the production process. Moreover, its impact strength is relatively low. Under dry and low temperature conditions, its solubility is poor, which is why its application field is limited.

However, since the end of the nylon macromolecular skeleton contains amino and carboxyl groups, its performance can be improved by changing its physical and chemical properties through copolymerization and blending.

III. Nylon Testing Items

When testing the cable waterproof connector made of nylon, the testing items mainly include two categories: conventional performance testing items and covering layer performance testing items. The former tests the full thickness tensile strength, anti-static, connector life, connector strength, fatigue life, etc. The latter tests elongation at break, hot air aging, acid and alkali resistance, etc.
