Common environmental performance indicators of waterproof cable connectors mainly include moisture resistance, temperature resistance, salt spray resistance, vibration resistance and impact resistance, which are introduced one by one below.
I. Moisture resistance
Moisture intrusion has a great impact on waterproof cable connectors, especially its insulation. We can use constant damp heat test conditions as product specifications, that is, relative humidity is 95%, temperature is +40±20℃, and the test time of this indicator cannot be less than 96h.
II. Temperature resistance
Generally, the waterproof connector has a temperature resistance of -40℃ to 100℃ in static working state, and a dynamic temperature resistance of -20℃ to 80℃ in dynamic working state. Of course, the instantaneous heat resistance range will be higher.
III. Salt spray resistance
When the working environment of the waterproof connector contains moisture and salt, it is easy to be corroded, which reduces the performance of the product. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a salt spray test to determine its salt spray resistance. During the test, it can be exposed in a test box, and the test time should be more than 48 hours.
Fourth, vibration and impact resistance
For waterproof cable connectors, one of its important properties is vibration and impact resistance. Because in many cases, the construction environment of waterproof connectors is relatively harsh. Once there is impact and vibration in the environment, if the product cannot resist these environmental factors, it is easy to be damaged, resulting in the product being unable to meet actual needs. Therefore, its vibration and impact resistance performance must be qualified.
